With final exams just weeks away, we’d like to offer some important hints for studying:
Make outlines and use notecards: Make an outline and a study guide. Use color, highlighters, post it notes and notecards when pertinent to studying and memorizing facts. Ask questions:Your teachers and tutors are there to help! Make a list of questions regarding the material
and the exam before the tutoring session . Do a review session with a tutor: In-person, with a group or virtually, review sessions offer vital information you want to know about. Including exam format, important topics, and key concepts you should be focusing your studies . Mark your calendar. Know your final exam schedule, and you’ll never be cramming the night before an exam. Take breaks. Studying is most effective in blocks of time starting 3-4 days before the test. You won’t be able to memorize or comprehend all the material at once so allow yourself breaks. Stay well-rested. There’s a lot to be said about a good night’s sleep. Make sure you’re well-rested so that you can be fully focused during your exams. Getting that seven to nine hours of sleep is even more important for students so they have full brain power lit up from the time you wake up and as the day progresses. Create a study schedule - and follow it.Splitting the material into chunks can be helpful. Taking a brisk walk in between an hour or two of study time can refresh focus and memory. Still make time for your family and friends. Having interactions with family or a talk with your mom or older sis who has been there done that can change your outlook and brighten your perspective. Always believe in yourself too!
Best of luck on exams!
